CBC to Intermediate camp
Hello Everyone,
Today we hiked from CBC to Intermediate camp in nice weather and ending at a new altitude of 17,700ft. Our Sherpa team worked hard breaking down camp and then putting camp back up before we arrived to intermediate camp. They rode in a dump truck with all of our gear as there is a good road all the way to camp. Tomorrow we will go on another acclimatization hike behind camp. I keep saying it because it’s true: everyone is do well!
Thanks for following along,

Last acclimatization hike from CBC
Hello Everyone,
We woke to some great views of Cho Oyu today! It was great to finally get some views of our objective. On our hike after breakfast we climbed to 18,100ft. Now back down to CBC at 16,100ft we have been resting relaxing and getting excited about moving closer to the mountain tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon we will be at intermediate camp at 17,700ft, our last camp before arriving to ABC! We are feeling good, and everyone is acclimatizing well. Thanks for following along on this adventure!

Rest and acclimatization day in Chinese Basecamp
Hello Everyone,
Today was another great day to continue acclimatizing our bodies by resting and also with a hike gaining another 1,000ft in elevation. The idea is to climb to a higher elevation to stress our bodies in that lower oxygen environment and then return back to the original elevation. It takes time for our bodies to start producing more red blood cells to help transport more oxygen throughout our bodies, so we take it slow. This will be our second night at 16,100ft and we will spend a third night here before moving up to 17,700ft at the intermediate camp. Our main Basecamp at the base of Cho Oyu (sometimes called ABC) is at 18,700ft which has a third less oxygen than at sea level. We will continue this way all the way up the mountain.
The team is acclimatizing well though and getting use to the down time in camp. Tomorrow I will share some photos of what our camp looks like. For now we are heading off to bed. Thanks for following along!

Tingri to Chinese Basecamp (16,100ft)
Hello everyone,
We arrived at Chinese Basecamp today to a new elevation of 16,100ft. The drive from Tingri only took about an hour and a half and they are working hard to pave the whole road to CBC! We were greeted by our great Sherpa and Nepali staff here and had a great second breakfast cooked by Gopal. The rest of the day we ate and hydrated, and took a walk down the road towards the mountains. It was a little windy today with a few sprinkles of rain but overall a pretty nice day. Tomorrow we will go on another hike, gaining some elevation to further acclimatize. The team is in good spirits and doing well. Thanks for following along!

I can only say the best about the work of Michael and Lhakpa and the whole team. I became pretty sick during the expedition. But even with that weakness I could make it to the top, very much due to the help of Michael and Lhakpa
