Team Fantasma in Puebla

Hey everyone this is Connor with Team Fantasma. We had an awesome day today touring the city of Puebla, we got to see some beautiful cathedrals and churches. We went to check out the world’s tallest pyramid! It was an awesome day resting and getting ready to head towards our next objective Pico De Orizaba. We plan on leaving in the morning, staying in a lodge tomorrow night, and heading towards our final peak! Spirits are high- hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we’re all wishing you many thanks from down here in Mexico! Thanks for following along.

Team Fantasma summits Iztaccihuatl!

This is Team Fantasma calling in from the summit of Izta! We’re all up here having a good time, just playing a game of dice on the summit! We’re up here at 17,000 feet! Everyone is doing great, we’ll check in tomorrow! Thanks for following along.

Team Fantasma Hikes to a waterfall

Hey everyone this is Connor with Team Fantasma. We had a nice day today, went on a hike to a waterfall to further our acclimatization. Had a great breakfast and dinner today. The weather is looking really good, we’ve had blue skies all day, we can see the volcano Pop shooting out some smoke which is really beautiful as the sun is setting here. We’ll be waking up really early tomorrow to go for the summit! Thanks for staying tuned and we’ll touch base tomorrow!

Team Fantasma Acclimizites at Izta Basecamp

Today we woke to beautiful clear skies. After a fire and some breakfast we drove to the base camp of Izta at 13,000 ft. We then set up our tents and went on a hike. After returning our cook Antonio made us an amazing meal. We will spend one more day acclimating tomorrow and go for the summit push on Wednesday.

The forecast is looking good!

Thank you for following along.

Team Fantasma enjoys ghost stories

Hey everyone, Connor here with the Mexico Volcanoes trip! We are up here at Buena Vista cabanas. We have decided on our team name to be Fantasma- which means “Ghost” in Spanish, because our power went out up here so we’ve been having a fire in the wood burning fire place and telling ghost stories! Definitely one of the highlights of the day- other than that today has been a national holiday, Mexican Revolution Day so we saw a parade and festivities in the market places. We came up to the Buena Vista cabanas where we played some basketball and had some good food. We’re tucking in for the night, wishing everyone a good thoughts, thanks for following along! We’ll check in again tomorrow.

Excellent program, nothing to complain about. Stuart was always willing to listen to the group but make the decisions best for the group overall. We altered the itinerary slightly to optimize our climbs. Roberto had excellent local knowledge of both mountains.
