La Malinche and Some Luxury

Hello!
The team got up early this morning, did breakfast and checked out of our cabanas, then were on our way up Malinche by 7:15! We had a great day with some sunshine and amazing views of Popo erupting, as well as Ixta and our other objectives; Sierra Negra and Orizaba. We even had some dog friends with us at the summit! Everyone is in good spirits after the climb, and we are now in the city of Puebla in a beautiful hotel close to the main square. Tonight we will enjoy a nice meal, this city is known for its poblano mole, and hopefully finally decide on a team name! There has been many suggestions thrown out there today, but can only be one winner! Check in to our next cybercast to see what the group decides on!
Thanks for following along!

Team enjoys their rest at the foot of La Malinche

Learning about our host country!

Today we had a great breakfast at the hotel, then loaded all our bags into our van transport and headed to the Museum of Anthropology. Our cultural guide, Arnoldo, gave the team a great tour of the highlights of the museum and emphasized the history of the peoples of this part of Mexico. We then left Mexico City and headed to Tlaxcala where, after lunch, we got a walking tour that included the first church built in Mexico and it’s oldest bull ring. From there we headed to LA Malinche national park to our lodging for the next 2 nights; cabanas! The group is excited to be at the base of our first objective!
We will check back in tomorrow, thanks for following along!

The Trip Begins!

Hello!
The whole team has either arrived in Mexico City or is in the air on the way! We met up for the first time this evening and did a gear check to make sure everyone has what they need, then went to dinner together at a Cuban-Mexican restaurant, where everything was delicious. The team is excited to kick things off, and also excited to head to bed after all of the travels to get here. We are brainstorming a team name and are happy to have you following along on our trip!
More to follow, but for now, buenos noches!
Ari

Team Returns to Mexico City and Says Farewell

Our guide was excellent! He was very approachable, knowledgeable, patient and added great energy to the group. I would highly recommend anyone join any of his future climbs.
