A new team kicks off their trip! Team “Los Condores”

The January 29 Vacas Valley team has arrived! Led by Hernan Rios. The team has taken the name “Los Condores”

“The team has begun their adventure in Aconcagua! Today we arrived in Los Penitentes, 2400 meters or 7800 feet. We had a delicious dinner, everyone enjoyed the menu of ravioli with bolognesa sauce. Tomorrow the next camp is waiting us!”

RaChoDan’s Eleven Returns to Mendoza

Today the team enjoyed a nearly 16 mile hike down the Horcones Valley and to the park exit, completing our 360 of Aconcagua. We have checked out of the park and are heading back to Mendoza tonight. Thanks for the good times on the mountain RaChoDan’s Eleven!

RaChoDan’s Eleven Descends to Plaza de Mulas

We descended nearly 8,500 ft from the summit in the last 24 hrs and have now crossed over the mountain to Plaza de Mulas, which is the base camp on the other side of the mountain. The luxury of more oxygen plus burgers and an Argentine asado for dinner is wonderful!

Rapidos y Furiosos summit Aconcagua!

Yesterday, we set out for the summit at 5:00 a.m., a little later than planned, waiting for the sun to lend us its strength. As we entered the traverse, the wind struck hard, testing our resolve, but we kept our focus and pushed on.
The weather improved as we climbed, and we reached the summit. Tired but fulfilled, calm and satisfied, we began our descent, carrying the quiet certainty of having met the mountain on its own terms.
