RaChoDan’s Eleven spent the day hiking further up the Vacas Valley to Casa de Piedra and we are now camped at 10,600 ft. We finally got our first views of Aconcagua near the end of our hike!

Team RaChoDan’s Eleven Hikes To Pampa de Leñas

The Jan 1 Aconcagua Team has now chosen a name and we will henceforth be known as RaChoDan’s Eleven. We entered the park today and hiked to Pampa de Leñas at 9,400 ft and enjoyed a traditional Argentine asado for dinner. After a good hike and with bellies full of barbecue beef and all of the accompanying fixings, we are settling down for our first night in the mountain.

January 1 Aconcagua Team Leaves Mendoza

Our team of eleven climbers spent yesterday afternoon prepping our gear and yesterday evening eating a wonderful steak dinner in Mendoza. We are now leaving Mendoza and heading towards our lodging for tonight near the Aconcagua park entrance.

Good night everyone!! We are already in our last camp before our attempt. Tomorrow will be a long and hard day, but this team is solid. Our best wishes for tomorrow, and here we go!

Hello everyone! Today was our last day of rest before going to Campo Alto Cólera. Our attack plan is for day 3. We remain focused with the goal ahead, our team is in optimal conditions to take the next step.  Check out the photos from our amazing camp!
