Elbrus Team #1 Arrives in Russia!

Dobre Dien (that’s Russian for “Good Day”) Friends, Family & Loved Ones,

Welcome to our coverage of Alpine Ascents’ June Mount Elbrus Expedition. Everyone has arrived in St Petersburg and we met as a group for the first time today. We had a brief orientation meeting this afternoon and have just finished a very tasty dinner of duck and red current sauce.

Some of the Team at Dinner.

The weather is fantastic in St Petersburg now and, given that it won’t get dark here until well after midnight, most of the group has gone for an after-dinner stroll around this beautiful city. The hotel is a stone’s throw from the Neva River and some of the prime city sights, so an evening walk is hard to pass up. Tomorrow, we plan to tour the city, so please check back in with us then. Thanks for following!

Sputniks relax!

Friends, family and loved ones,

Not needing our spare weather day on the mountain, we Sputniks had time to play. Some went for a run. Some went hiking and fishing. And some went paragliding.

Up, up and away!

Beautiful day to fly!

Soar like an Eagle!

All our best,
Carole & Vern Tejas
