Guide Spotlight: Dawa Yangzum Sherpa

Dawa Yangzum

While Alpine Ascents is fortunate to work with dozens of world-class guides and climbers, we are especially grateful to work with Dawa Yangzum Sherpa. Hailing from Nepal’s Rolwaling Himal, Dawa’s resume includes numerous 8000m ascents (Everest, Cho Oyu, K2), successful entries in high-altitude ultra-marathons, time spent as a climbing ranger on Mount Rainier, and instructorship at the Khumbu Climbing Center. She works around the world with us – from Aconcagua to Denali, and from Mount Rainier to the North Cascades closer to home.

Curious to know more? Dawa was recently featured in Outside Magazine, noted in Alpinist’s Newswire for a 6000m first ascent, and interviewed for her pursuit of IFMGA status.
