Aconcagua Vacas Valley 12/16 Team Departs Mendoza

Hello everyone!

This is Mike with an update with the 12/16 Vacas Valley climb.

Our team is currently in the small town of Penitentes, staying at the Ayelen Hotel. Yesterday we completed our gear check and had a wonderful dinner in Mendoza (and celebrated a belated birthday of one of our team members!). This morning we loaded our duffels, food, and backpacks onto a bus and headed towards the mountains.

Tomorrow we’ll hit the trail after enjoying a buffet style breakfast. We’ll hike with our small day packs for just under 8 miles before meeting the mules with our duffel bags at our first camp, Pampa de Lenas. Well check in tomorrow evening from our camp on the trail.

Everyone sends their love. We’ll check with another update tomorrow!

-Mike
