Everest Expedition 2022: 2nd Rotation Success

Hello Everyone,

I apologize for no updates the last few days! I was having some technical difficulties, but we had a safe and successful 2nd rotation all the way to about 23,000ft. Our climb through the icefall to Camp 1 was uncrowded again and was really just a pleasant climb to Camp 1. After resting in the heat of the Western CWM at Camp 1 for the day we hiked to Camp 2 the following day. As the team gets more efficient and acclimated, our climb times are decreasing to each camp. We spent a rest day at Camp 2, and then climbed onto the Lhotse face to lower camp 3 at 23,000ft. This is always a tough climb for most people but the team did well, and we completed our high point for the team without the use of supplemental oxygen. Our next time up the Lhotse face our climbers will be using oxygen to climb to Camp 3 and higher.

This morning we left Camp 2 at 2am and made it back to Basecamp for breakfast! We will be resting at BC for the next 3 or 4 days and weather depending will be heading back up for our summit attempt. I will post more photos of the second rotation in the next couple of days. Thanks for following along!
