Our team has been enjoying perfect, warm weather and had great views of Mt.Adams, Mt.St.Helens, and Mt.Hood on our hike up to camp Muir yesterday. We feasted on burritos and had time to enjoy the surroundings and company before heading off to sleep.

This morning we did snow school around camp and practiced walking in crampons, self arrest, and moving as a rope team. After a break we packed up and made the move up Cathedral Gap
to high camp at Ingraham Flats, navigating a rocky section and getting a great view of the ice fall just below camp on the way up. The team is currently relaxing in the sun as we prepare for an early dinner and get rest for the summit attempt tonight. Conditions are supposed to stay nice and we are hopeful for a successful trip!

Smoke has moved in the last couple of days throughout the area, but thankfully hasn’t impacted trips or teams up high. We expect a lot of the smoke to […]
