Tuesday January 15. Yesterday team Alto Tango traveled to Camp 1 (Camp Canada) on Aconcagua to move some food and equipment up the mountain and returned to basecamp for the evening. It was snowy, windy and cold on our carry day but the team dealt with the weather and moved well.
After climbing Cerro Bonete (16,700 ft) two days ago and carrying loads to Camp 1 (16,500 ft) yesterday, our team will take a much deserved rest day today in basecamp with plans to move up the mountain soon.
Spirits are high and our team members are enjoying some good books, card games and friendly conversations when not working hard on the mountain.
Enjoy this summit photo from our ascent of Cerro Bonete.
