Every expedition to Carstensz Pyramid has heard stories from the past where the local authorities (or tribespeople) shut down expeditions that were cleared months ahead of time. When we landed in Timika today we got the hairy eyeball from the local immigration enforcement and were called in to the Timika immigration office for further inspection.
