Team 1 spend the day caching at Camp 1 before a windy night back at Base Camp enjoying dinner with Team 2

Hi, this is Garret Madison calling in for Alpine Ascents Aconcagua Team 1.

Today is December 5th, Wednesday and today we did a carry up to our Camp 1 and returned to Base Camp. We carried up a load of food, fuel, and climbing gear (about fifty pounds each), cached it at Camp 1, and came back down to Base Camp. Had a wonderful afternoon here and met up with our Aconcagua Team 2 group, with the guides: Lakpa Rita, Michael Horst, and Victor McNeil. And we’re going to have a dinner with them tonight and then tomorrow after breakfast we’re going to head up to Camp 1 and settle in there for the night.

Still high winds in the forecast and we’ve built some big rock walls around our tents and anchored everything down well, to protect our camp here from the high winds. But clear skies and decent conditions, so we’re looking forward to moving up tomorrow and we’ll check in soon.
