The weather calms for a carry up Motorcycle Hill before the Team ends the day enjoying cake for Cece’s birthday

Hello, this is Cece calling in for Alp 1. We had a great day today.

Everyone was super rested after our storm day yesterday and it continued to storm all night, quite windy. And our morning was a little bit delayed by these incredible gusts of wind. Got up, we had breakfast and contemplated a move, and finally decided that the winds were low enough we could make it. And by the time we got up Motorcycle Hill, it was dead calm and the rest of the day proceeded to be absolutely beautiful and calm. And the Team made a successful carry up to a cache at about 13,500 feet on the West Buttress.

So everyone’s in great spirits and looking forward to a move up to 14 Camp tomorrow.

And the day was made even better because today was my birthday! (“Happy birthday Cece!” called out by Team Member in the background.) And the boys made me birthday cake, so quite a fun day! And the weather gods smiled down on us and gave us good weather.

Hope everyone’s great out there in the real land. Ciao ciao!

  • Denali ’24 in a Nutshell

    Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations.
