Bolivia 2022

Hi family and friends!

I am excited to welcome you to the cybercast of the first Bolivia expedition of 2022 and our first expedition in Bolivia following a long pandemic hiatus. We’re finally back in Bolivia!

Our team of nine climbers met in the morning for a gear check and orientation, followed by a gourmet lunch at a new restaurant that displays the impressive culinary skill of youth graduates of a non-profit culinary school project. We spent the afternoon touring the city of La Paz with stops at scenic overlooks and historic sites and several cable car rides high over the steep slopes of the city. We finished off the day with a wander through the absolutely massive biweekly open air market in the city of El Alto.

Tomorrow we will leave the chaos of the city and tour the archeological ruins of Tiwanaku and travel to Lake Titicaca.

Saludos,

Rachel
