Hi friends and family!
Today we left the city of La Paz in order to continue our touring and acclimatization along the shores of Lake Titicaca. We toured the ruins of Tiwanaku during the first half of the day and learned about the culture that dominated the high altitude Andean plains for over a thousand years. Their agriculture, reliance on llamas, belief system, culture and even their diet carries distinct relevance to this day to the way of life on the high altitude Bolivian plateau and mountains. We continued our journey along the shores of Lake Titicaca during the afternoon with views of the mountain range and the specific peaks that we will be climbing soon. We are now finishing off the day with gorgeous sunset views over the lake and the bay in Copacabana from our hotel room balconies!
