Hello Everyone,
Our first team on Carstensz Pyramid of 2018 are all safely in Bali and ready to head to Timika in West Papua! Today we did a gear check and orientation of the climb, relaxed in the afternoon, and just finished up a fantastic dinner of traditional Balinese food. In just a few hours we will be taking a red eye flight to Timika where we will stage to fly into Basecamp at the base of the peak. The Basecamp is at around 14,000ft, so will be a big jump in elevation from here at the beach in Bali in the next couple of days! We have a very strong team with a lot of experience and look forward to climbing with everyone to the summit of this incredible peak in the jungle of West Papua.
