Friends, family & loved ones,
Another full day for the Team. Before breakfast, some of us returned to the Tengboche Monastery just across from our teahouse to observe the monks chanting and performing morning prayers.
Once we hit the “road”, we descended through the rhododendron forest through Deboche. The first part of the trail was a bit icy but we managed it without incident.

We continued walking, crossing the river and then started climbing through the smaller villages of Pangboche and Shomare. Lots of yak traffic on the trail today!

We noticed the change in the terrain as we approached treeline— trees are smaller, more shrub-like and fewer.
Everyone was excited when we made the last climb before Pheriche and could see the village down below. Home for the next two nights.
