Denali 2022: Donari Six Pack Looks to High Camp

Hi friends this is Don from The Donari Six Pack. Our team had another wonderful day on the mountain today. We did a hard carry up the fixed lines and cached a little bit of food at about 16,200 feet and then descended back into the 14,000 foot camp. We had a great dinner tonight- steaks and mashed potatoes with bacon and salmon and everyone’s in good spirits, they did a fantastic job on the hill today. We had the best conditions and I think probably best group I’ve ever taken up to the top of the fixed lines they are doing an outstanding job and it looks like we may have a good weather window to go up so our plan tentatively is to get up in the morning and pack everything up double check the weather and then move up to 17,000 foot camp to set ourselves up for a potential summit bid sometime in the following days. Thank you all for following along. Please know that the team is doing a fantastic job everybody’s happy healthy and just really performing well and everybody’s acclimatizing well, eating well, we’re in good shape. We look forward to spend a few more days on the mountain, see if we can get to the top of this stuff but thank you all very much for following along and we appreciate all the love and support that everyone’s sent us. Cheers! Bye

  • Denali ’24 in a Nutshell

Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations. When I touched down in Talkeetna this year, greeted by sunny skies and perfect weather, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful for a smoother forecast for Denali climbing season compared to the previous year’s relentlessly poor weather.
