Everest Base Camp Trek: Dharmavariants Acclimatize in Pheriche

Friends, family & loved ones,

The Variants had an active rest day here in Pheriche. We took advantage of a clear blue sky this morning to climb up on the ridge above town, where we were treated to an unparalleled view of the surrounding peaks. The temperature was comfortable enough for us to spend a bit of time hanging out up there, watching the plume off of Lhotse and taking photos of Island Peak and Makalu in the distance. In the other direction, the sun shone on Cho Oyu. So lucky with the weather today.

This afternoon, we attended an informative presentation by the doctors at the Himalayan Rescue Association clinic here in town.

The other major activity for today: dessert. We sampled apple pies, Black Forest cake, and more than a couple of fried Mars and Snickers bars, which are a specialty in these parts.

Tomorrow, we plan to leave Pheriche and jump up the valley to Dhukla. Thanks for following!
