Everest Base Camp Trek: Dharmavariants Cruise to Tengboche

Friends, family & loved ones,

All is well here in Tengboche. We left Khumjung this morning, making a quick stop at the Hillary School- the first of many schools in Nepal established by the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.

We then descended about 2000 feet to the Dudh Kosi River, where we stopped for a refreshment break— much needed to fuel ourselves for the 2000-plus feet climb up the other side of the river to Tengboche. We cruised uphill and arrived “on time and under budget” in time for lunch.

This afternoon, we visited the Tengboche Monastery. Very ornate and fully decorated. The monks were taking a rest day today so unfortunately we were not able to see their puja prayer ceremony. We are hoping to catch them in action early tomorrow morning.

Since the start of our trek, the weather has been consistently warm, with clouds accumulating in the afternoon. Nevertheless, we managed to get some decent views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse today. Exciting for the Team!

Thanks for following!
