Goro II camp

Hi friends,

Today Dan and I walked from Urdukas camp out to the middle of the Baltoro glacier and to Goro II camp at 14,000’. About 6.5 miles and 7 hours walking.
We are doing fantastic. The mountain vistas the last 2 days have been amongst the best I have ever seen. Last night from Urdukas we were treated to an other worldly sunset on the Trango Tower and Uli Biaho groups. Granite spires shooting out of the glaciers and holding some of the most iconic big wall rock climbs in the world.
Today we have been treated to stunning views of Masherbrum 7821m and Gasherbrum IV 7925m, both in the top 20 highest on earth and amongst the hardest alpine climbs, both with only a couple of ascents. The trek is challenging but one is rewarded
with some of the best mountain scenery on our amazing planet.
We are in fine company with our Balti porters, Pakistani kitchen staff and Zahid our local guide from the Hunza Valley. Tomorrow to Concordia and our 1st views of K2!
Thanks for following along.
