Hello Everyone,
After a several days of rest we are ready to head out of Basecamp back down the trail to Lobuche East peak to serve as our first acclimatization rotation rather than climbing through the Khumbu icefall. We are planning on sleeping tomorrow night at about 19,500ft which is the same altitude of Camp 1 on Everest. We will climb as high as we can on Lobuche East but often times many people don’t actually reach the true summit which is just over 20,000ft due to a bit of a technical ridge. We shall see when we get there though what the conditions are like. Our main goal is to get a little bit of acclimatization before our rotation up on Everest. The team is strong and healthy and looking forward to this adventure out of Everest Basecamp.
I’ll update again soon!
