I-can-cagua reaches basecamp!

Hello!Today we started the true elevation gain and made our way all the way up to 4200m and our basecamp for the upper mountain, Plaza Argentina! It was a beautiful day for trekking and we made our way up valley, crossing multiple mud rivers caused by all of last nights rain. We once again had perfect timing as snow started when we arrived at camp and we were able to get inside one of our large canvas tents and enjoy a welcome meal before setting up tents. The food here in basecamp is amazing and everyone ate as much soup and pizza and dessert as possible in our collective dining tent before heading off to get a good rest after an early start this morning.
Tomorrow is a rest day here in camp, and we will check back in then!
Thanks for following along!
