Islamabad to Skardu

Hi Folks

Turning trips here in Pakistan and now getting our K2 basecamp trek up and running!
We flew from Islamabad to Skardu this morning, checked into our lodging at the Concordia motel and toured around town a bit after getting gear checks completed. We visited the 300 year old mosque and the 400 year old Karpacho Fort.
We are hoping for permission tonight from the Military to begin our all day jeep ride tomorrow up to Askole. From Askole we will leave the vehicles behind and start the trek!
We will join the immense Baltoro glacier after a couple of days and will reach K2 basecamp after about 7 days in the upper Baltoro.
Most of the cybercasts after today will be from my InReach, with brief update on our location and scenery. Once we get back I will post some photos from the journey.

Thanks
