Hi again everyone!!!
We are ready for our first big summit: Cayambe volcano with 18,999 ft… Let’s make it 19,000 :p.
Yesterday we reached 16,200 ft as part of the acclimatization and glacier pracroce. A mild snow storm hit us for a couple of hours bit after that sun showed up again and dried us. We descended to the refuge just before another wave of water, sleet and snow hit again, so at the end we kept ourselves dry and warm.
Today we will just rest and practice some basic technical skills in the Yanacocha refuge and the, after lunch we will drive up to the Rules – Oleas – Berge refuge at 15,500ft where we will have dinner and rest until 11pm where we will start gearing-up.
If everything works right, next you will see is us fromnthe summit of Ecuador’s third highest peak.
Greetings from Loco Llama team!!
Camilo.
