A strong all-around team effort put five of us on the summit this morning. They earned this one, pushing through 35+ mph winds and poor visibility to stand on Columbia Crest at 10:15am.

Guides Devin & Kristie – first Rainier summit together
It was a particularly special summit for Janel – her mother summited the mountain in 1968 and Janel has always considered Rainer “her mountain”. We were all very stoked for her!
A rapid descent, with many moments of hilarity, found us back at Camp Schurman where a tremendous support team welcomed us back. This was truly a full team effort – absolutely inspiring how these six people have supported and encouraged each other all week. Though only three of them stood on the summit in person, everyone was there in spirit. I have rarely seen anything like it.
