Friends, family and loved ones,
We have only been able to give updates with satellite phone due to the remoteness of the upper Khumbu valley. Now that we are down we can share photos again. We practiced ladder crossing in Base camp.
The glacier was so beautiful we had to go explore. We then trekked to the valley below.
Though it has snowed every day us our spirits remain undampend. Our appetites have returned with a vengeance and we are consuming everything in sight.
In Dingbuche we say our goodbyes to trekkers and they continue down valley under Carole’s guidance. The climbers of our team will go up the Imja valley with me where we will attempt to climb Island Peak. This mountain
rivals Denali in height and grandeur and has awesome view of the high Himal.
Come along. All my best,
Vern Tejas
