Mera Peakers Reach Khare

Namaste Friends, Family & Loved Ones,

Another good day for the Team. We walked from Thangnag to Khare in under 4 hours in really great weather. The views were Up Close and Off The Hook!

Khare is the last village on the trail before we start our climb of the Peak. We’re sitting here at about 16,000 on fairly nice accommodations. Cappuccinos and hot chocolates are available for purchase! The weather had been fairly typical of the last few days– clear in the morning and clouds and light snow in the afternoon. So it’s a bit chilly right now but the wood burning stove is just getting stoked and we should warm up in short order. Otherwise, so far so good.

Our plan is to spend at least one more day here — maybe more depending on the weather and acclimatization– before moving up.

Thanks for following us,

Carole & Vern Tejas
