Hello friends, family and loved ones,
Welcome to our podcast for Alpine Ascent’s second Vinson climb of the season. All members and all their baggage have arrived in Punta Arenas Chile, which is our hopping off city to Antarctica. We got to know each other over breakfast and then gear check.. The team seems quite capable and eager to get onto the last continent. We reviewed our rope skills and prepared our rigging that our lives will depend on in the weeks to come. After a full day of preparation we had a splendid meal of local specialties. We will load our camp equipment and food supplies onto our cargo plane tomorrow and wait till the conditions are conducive for flying. Please come along with us to the ICE.
