Peraponken Peak Patrol flys onto the glacier

Greetings from base camp,

The team Peraponken Peak Patrol have made it to Denali base camp at 7200ft/ 2200m. We arrived here early afternoon, setup camp, covered more skills and dug a cache hole to leave few items that will be waiting for us on our return.

Because of the warmer temperatures during day time and the snow on lower glacier being soggy and punchy we have decided to travel at night when temperatures are much cooler and it’s safer. We had Hamburgers for dinner, it’s early and very hot but we are already in the tent trying to sleep. We will wake up early tonight and start climbing early tomorrow morning to camp 1.

Thanks for following along and we will keep you posted as we move higher on the mountain.

    Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations.
