Pirates of the Carabiners Arrive at the base of ski hill

Hey there this is Nick coming at you from Camp one the base of Ski Hill with the Pirates of the Carabiners here. We’re having a great old time out here on the glacier. We managed to fly in yesterday in a very narrow window so we’re feeling pretty lucky about that. Everyone’s doing really well we had our first move across the lower Kahiltna and we’re looking at heading up our first hill, Ski Hill tomorrow. So we’re gonna really test out the fitness tomorrow. Had burgers for dinner last night tonight we had some delicious and delightful stir fry with tasty veggies and stir fry sauce, chicken even in there. Wow wow it was just tremendous. Let me tell you people really loved it. Anyway that’s all for now from The Pirates of the Carabiners, whatever you wanna call us. Think you know by now. Anyway over and out for now stand by for more updates in the future. Bye bye.

  • Denali ’24 in a Nutshell

Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations. When I touched down in Talkeetna this year, greeted by sunny skies and perfect weather, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful for a smoother forecast for Denali climbing season compared to the previous year’s relentlessly poor weather.
