Ecuador Volcanoes Team 3 Climbs Cayame – 100% Summit Success!

Hello family and friends,

First of all we want to say Happy Birthday to Matt who celebrated by getting to the summit of Cayambe which is the third highest mountain in the Americas north of the  Equator line. All team members summited this big and impressive volcano. Congratulations!!!

The team started the climb at 11:45 last night and got to the summit early in the morning. Snow conditions were good. The views during the climb were amazing! We are currently at Hacienda Pinsaqui. In the evening, the team participated in a brief explanation about the history of this beautiful colonial hacienda and tried the traditional welcome drink known as “canelazo”. During dinner,  Matt was surprised  with a birthday cake!
We are all having a good time!

Thanks for tuning in!
All the best,
Team 3
