Hello family and friends!
Continuing with our acclimatization schedule, we hiked through an impressive group of mountain lakes. Team members felt great all the way to the main goal of today’s hike: the Parcacocha lake (4,069 m/13,350 ft.) where we had lunch while enjoying the views. An Andean owl could be heard but we could not see it. One team member tried to take a plunge in the cold waters of the lake but common sense and our lead guide (and the lack of a towel) prevented it from happening. Then we retraced our steps back to the traihead led by Josh. The weather was very pleasant. We visited the beautiful Baños waterfall and Courtney led us back to the road along a trail through a marvelous cloud forest. We are back at the hot springs resort looking forward to enjoying a plunge in the thermal pools 🙂
Thanks for following!
All the best,
Team 5
PS._ Tomorrow we are moving to the foot of Cayambe volcano. The third highest mountain in Ecuador. Yeah!!
