Team 5 rests at 14 camp

Hey everybody this is Kristie and Michael checking in again from 14 camp with Team 5. We got up this morning and after some cheesy sausage hash browns we added up to the fixed lines and put in a cache up on the 16 Ridge. Hung out for an hour or so for some good acclimatization. Pretty big day for us about seven hours but all in all really nice. Weather’s been getting a little bit better the last few days. This evening the skies opened up and we finally have some views of Hunter and Foraker and pretty nice to see some blue sky up here. So anyways tomorrow we’re gonna plan the rest here at 14 and be ready to make a move up to 17 camp when the stars line. Anyways have a good night everybody. Bye.

  • Denali ’24 in a Nutshell

Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations. When I touched down in Talkeetna this year, greeted by sunny skies and perfect weather, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful for a smoother forecast for Denali climbing season compared to the previous year’s relentlessly poor weather. Julia was clearly on the same wavelength because just a few weeks before, […]
