Ecuador Volcanoes Team “Expreso Baños” Summits Cayambe! Congratulations!

Good morning folks! Team members climbed to the Cayambe summit in beautiful weather this morning. No wind, good snow conditions, and fantastic views! It was a well deserved reward to the effort put up by the climbers during the last few days that they spent acclimating and reviewing skills. Cayambe with its 18,993 feet is the third highest peak in Ecuador and the third tallest mountain in the Americas north of the Equator line (after Denali and Mount Logan). Two climbers turned around at about 17,800 feet in order to be conservative and save strength for the second big volcano on the Ecuador program. With the acclimatization acquired during the Cayambe climb, team members feel very optimistic for the next climb: Cotopaxi. They are all doing well and send their best to family and friends. Pictures from the climb to come soon! Stay tuned!
