Team Has Landed!

Namaste friends, family & loved ones,

Vern and Carole Tejas here, reporting in from Kathmandu on the first official day of Alpine Ascents’ 2023 Spring Everest Basecamp Trek and Island Peak Climb. The whole Team gathered for the first time this afternoon. We had a trip briefing and got to know one another a bit before heading out to a Welcome Dinner where we all had a very tasty meal of Dal Bhat, the classic dish that most Nepalis eat twice a day, every day. “Dal Bhat Power, 24 Hour” the saying goes and it is oh so true.

Tomorrow we’ll tour some of the highlights of Kathmandu, get our gear sorted and organized and relax a bit before flying up to the Khumbu region on Wednesday.

We’re all very happy to be here and are excited for the adventure to come. Thanks for following!
