Team Lucky Mule Shoe Rests in Mulas

The team took a rest day in Plaza de Mulas. We relaxed and made final preparations in order to begin the upper mountain portion of our expedition. Tomorrow we will leave the luxuries of Plaza de Mulas and hike to our first upper mountain camp. The mule shoe received a new look today, with decoration painted courtesy of Miguel, the painter and owner of the world’s highest art gallery here in Plaza de Mulas. The cybercast will be sent via satellite phone audio beginning with tomorrow’s post. We will continue to post daily, but we do experience occasional delays and technical difficulties with the post via sat phone, so don’t be alarmed if our posts don’t appear as regularly over the next several days. We’ll just be up there climbing! Feliz navidad! Rachel
