We had perfect weather for our rest day at Plaza de Mulas.
Hydrating, napping, and eating were our biggest achievements today. We also had some fierce games of Jenga and Hearts. The weather for tomorrow is looking fantastic for our day hike up to about 16k to the summit of a nearby peak, Bonete.
Here are some climber specific updates on how everyone is doing this afternoon:
Jacob has been utilizing his engineering skills and has helped repair 2 Thermarests. Kari is leading the charge on best women’s fashion in the crew. Dan bravely took the first shower of the group and had to sit with 10 other stinky people for dinner last night. Brian brought a couple bottles of hot sauce for the crew to share which has made all our basecamp meals that much better. Adam and Patrick continue to go between bickering and trading dog photos. Sonia is the reigning Janga champion. Jamie has been learning Cumbía with the camp support staff. David is already planning his next climbing adventure in the Cascades.
For dinner we had ribs with brownies and dulce de leche for dessert. Now everyone is in bed and ready for tomorrow’s hike!
