Team Orient Express at Plaza de Mulas Safely After a Windy Night at High Camp

Stuart Robertson called to check in and reported the following: The team made a traverse around to Camp Nido in order to stay lower and avoid the high winds at high camp, and then moved up to Camp Cholera the following day. They spent the night at Cholera, hoping to go for the summit in the a.m. if conditions improved, but in the morning decided to head down due to persistent cold and winds. The team descended to Plaza de Mulas basecamp yesterday on a gorgeous but cold day and all were doing well. They plan to hike out to the trailhead today and enjoy hot showers and great food at the hotel in Penitentes this evening. Stuart is planning to cybercast again before the end of the expedition if possible as well, so keep your eyes out for that update, and thanks for following along!
