Friends, Family & Loved Ones,
The weather gods looked upon us kindly today and, in beautiful weather, we were able to hike up about 3,000 feet to a watchtower overlooking Terskol village. After an hour or so of hiking up a gravel road, we veered off and went overland, climbing up steeply on tussocks and long grass interspersed with an assortment of alpine wildflowers. It’s warm in the village now but a fair amount of snow remained towards the top of our hike.
We made it back to our hotel in time for a late lunch and had time in the afternoon to relax and get our gear sorted for tomorrow, when we will move up to the huts.
Everybody is doing well and looking forward to getting on the mountain.
