VOLCANOES OF ECUADOR TEAM 4 ENJOYS GREAT VIEWS

Hello family and friends!
This morning we woke up to clear skies in the “cloud forest”. After having breakfast (which included several pieces of cassava “yuca” bread for our lead guide Jose Luis) we drove to the trailhead and started hiking up to the top of the La Virgen high pass. The views were amazing! We could see Antisana, Cayambe, Cotopaxi with plume of steam coming out from its crater and Chimborazo among other lesser peaks. It was overwelmingly beautiful.
Later on, we visited the “Middle of the World”. We are having lunch and soon we will continue driving towards the Yanacocha Lodge located at the foot of Cayambe volcano.
Tomorrow we will review glacier climbing skills at 16,000 ft / 4,900 m on Cayambe.
Thanks for following!
Best.
