3 Gorkhas summit Island Peak and head back to Chukhung

Hello Everyone,

We had a very long day yesterday but all made it to the top of Island Peak (20,305 feet).

We left around 2am and arrived at the summit at about 9am. Both Jake and Dan did very well on the climb! It’s a long day with the descent and then having lunch at Base Camp and then a couple more hours of hiking to Chukhung, but was all worth it and very successful.

After 10 hours of sleep we were feeling good this morning as we began our hike to Deboche (12,500ft). Tomorrow we will head to Namche (11,300ft), and then continue on to Phakding, and then on to Lukla before flying back to Kathmandu on November 4th.

We are still a little tired from our summit day but are healthy, safe and happy!

Thanks for following,
Ben
