Basecamp and back!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay the last couple days on the updates! We all just made it back to Gorak Shep from Everest basecamp today! It was a long day, but a beautiful day, and also a very successful day! We had 100% success in getting everyone to basecamp today! Everyone but two made it all the way to the Alpine Ascents basecamp for lunch (which is the furthest away) and the two who didn’t make all the way to basecamp made it very close and decided to turn around but had lunch on the trail. The sprawling basecamp from end to end takes about an hour to walk. Everyone is tired, and feeling some mild symptoms of altitude, but are all in good spirits and feel a great sense of accomplishment! Tomorrow morning some of us will venture up to Kala Pattar, a mountain above Gorak Shep that stands at 18,300ft with great views of the big peaks that surround us. After an early morning hike up Kala Pattar we will have breakfast back here at our tea house and then head down valley to Dingboche for the night. It will feel good to be sleeping at 14,400ft rather than 16,900ft here in Gorak Shep! I’ll be sending more pictures tomorrow from Dingboche!

Thanks for following along, it’s been a fun trek!
