Checking in from Casa de Piedra on behalf of sierra delta delta sierra team

Today is Wednesday december 7th 2022. The team had a good nights rest, broke down camp at pampa de leñas and headed off on the 2nd day of our trek through the valley. From this point forward the only soundtrack is nature – now the games begin.

Highlights of the day included crossing a nice little bridge and a wonderful lunch of leftover bbq from last night!

We also saw some elusive guanacos!

Roughly 15km later we arrived at our current camp and got an opportunity to test our skills at setting up tents in higher winds. Happy to report we were successful!

Without a doubt the best of the best was the first sight of the massively imposing and utterly beautiful Aconcagua.

We have our work cut out for us, but the program allows for us to take our time and test ourselves at appropriate intervals.

Everyone is in good spirits and good health and we’re looking forward to another beautiful day that will end with us arriving at base camp!

More soon…
