Fall 2018 EBC Trek – Cheese Balls explore Base Camp!

Namaste friends, family and loved ones!

Another huge day for our team. We trekked to the upper reaches of the Khumbu glacier. Fortunately the weather was clear so we were able to see Everest many times. We had to descend down on to the Khumbu glacier to actually visit the historic mountaineers base camp site. So much history in this place that the UN has declared it a World Heritage Site. And I have personally spent over two years of my life here. There’s no place like home.

On our way down valley we came across a beautiful yak that was named Jane (pictured below).

Everyone is enjoying the thicker air down here in Lobuche and looking for even more tomorrow. Everyone except Amy who is going to climb Mount Lobuche East and Island peak. Good luck Amy you have been a pleasure to trek the Khumbu with. We will miss you!

All our best, Vern and the Cheese Balls
