We entered the park today and hiked in great weather to our first camp on the mountain, Confluencia at 11,200 ft. The staff at camp greeted us with a wonderful lunch of plentiful charcuterie board fare and empanadas. We will spend two nights here to allow our bodies to catch up to the increase in elevation. Tomorrow we will hike to an overlook of the South Face of Aconcagua to acclimate and take in the views!
We brainstormed at length regarding a team name today…. but decided to leave the final decision for tomorrow.
