Mont Blanc Team #1: Back in Chamonix

Greeting from Chamonix France!

Today we descend back to Chamonix from the Mont Blanc. Yesterday we made an attempt on Mont Blanc. Unfortunately our climbers did not get to the summit due to high winds and fast approaching storm. Two of our climbers got within 400m of the summit but gusts over 50mph and cold temps had us turn around. We were hoping to make another summit attempt today but we woke up to 8-10cm of new snow and moderate snow falling from the sky. Some of our other climbers made it up towards the Gouter refuge working on their technical rock and snow climbing abilities yesterday also. Today some of our climbers spent the day doing a via ferreta just outside Chamonix. The weather pattern has been very stormy and hopefully it will improve next week.

All our climbers are very glad they came to Mont Blanc in spite of not summiting, they all had a great trip and have enjoy the amazing beauty of the French Alps. Tonight we will be having a celebration dinner as we did not summit but we made new climbing partners, friends, and dreams come true during this week.

Thanks!
