Jambo friends, family and loved ones,
We said goodbye to beautiful Karanga camp and hello to good weather. ![]()
The time passed quickly as we climbed this huge volcano and before we knew it we’d arrived at Barafu Camp which is where most stay before their Summit attempt. ![]()
We are feeling strong so we pushed on for another hour and made camp at approximately 16,000 feet. This should put in a great position to top tomorrow morning at sunrise. ![]()
The crater rim is hiding behind the clouds and the trail is quite clearly defined. It’s 4 pm and we’re hitting the sleeping bags so we can arise at 11pm for a midnight start on our summit push. Wish us luck!
All our best,Vern Tejas
