Summit Party climbs to Barranco Camp

Jumbo friends family and loved ones,

Our whole African crew saying to us this morning as we left Shira camp. We took an obligatory sign posts picture as we headed up the hill towards the Kibo crater.

Four hours climbing we arrived at the notorious lava tower where we ate a delicious lunch.

We descended from that 15,000 foot level down into a forest of giant Senicio plants.

We arrived in Baranco camp just before dark I’ve got a very nice light show in the upper slopes of Kilimanjaro.

The team is doing well with the altitude acclimatization. Tomorrow we will press on to Karenga camp. Please clam along with us.

All our best,Vern Tejas
